Vendor-dependent leasing companies primarily use leasing as a means to boost sales of their own makes. This is why almost all automobile manufacturers have their own leasing company.
Vendor-independent leasing companies (= indirect leasing))
Vendor-independent leasing companies operate as unbiased customer consultants. They have no fixed ties with, or dependence on, specific vendors. The advantage is that potential lessees can select their preferred vehicles from the product ranges offered by all automobile manufacturers.
